Dr. Sheronda’s Life Philosophy
To be at one with creation,
To be in harmony with my spirit
To have my mind, body and soul do a perfect dance of rhythm.
To have my head, heart and ears be lifelong partners
So that I can enjoy every part of the journey of life
To leave a legacy of knowledge, wisdom, and lifelong learning
For the people who will travel this land after me.
To be a boulder in a field of rocks
To be that storm in the mist of complacency,
To raise consciousness, hope and self-esteem
To lower self-hate, self-pity, and self-destruction
To take care of myself and my community
To learn from the past live in the present, and build the future.
To treat people how I want to be treated
To let karma fight my battles without my interference
In my role as a holistic life coach I motivate community to help break cycles of poverty, teen pregnancy, substance abuse, sexual abuse, illiteracy, incarceration, and other generational curses and life dysfunctions. I plan, host, and facilitate community events, workshops, trainings, seminars, healing circles, classes, and community gatherings as a way to heal the mind, body, and soul.

Philosophy Of Education And Learning
All while I was in school I felt like I was behind it always seemed that everyone was ahead of me because it took me longer than most to finish my writing and reading assignments. When I was around 9 years old a substitute teacher gave us an assignment to read on our own. As I begin to read the story to myself the teacher told me that it looks ignorant when people move their lips while reading quietly. I stop moving my lips so that I wouldn’t look ignorant, from that day forward I didn’t like to read anymore so I read my school assignments but I didn’t read for pleasure because it took me so long to finish reading because I was so focus on not looking ignorant many times I had to read the assignment more than once so that I could comprehend what I was reading.

It took me a long time to figure out that there are many different learning styles and many ways to learn. Unfortunately, if you do not learn like the dominant culture you are considered to be dumb or slow. My philosophy about education is everyone is the teacher and everyone is the student as long as you have a desire to learn you can learn from anyone and about anything.

After many times of attempting to go to college and learn the so call traditional way through the years I discovered my learning style. That prompted me to customize my learning by taking trainings and getting certifications in the subjects and fields I was interested in to further my path in life as well as choosing topics that I want to learn.

To sum it all up a lot of us pay thousands of dollars to learning institutions and when we graduate all we really have to show for all of our hard work and dedication is a piece of paper, a lot of debt, and no career prospects. If you really think about it we spend a lot of money to stay oppressed. Don’t get me wrong I am not saying don’t learn what the oppressor is teaching I am saying that can’t be the only thing you are learning. We must balance out our learning with the things we are required to learn with the things we want to learn. Next we
